The PmB / Blue Shield waterproofing membrane has been approved by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, numerous regional DOTS and AREMA rail authorities.
  • PmB / Blue Shield (Baytec) is a high grade twin component spray applied polyurethane elastomer of instant reactivity, installed to a minimum tolerance 80 MILS thickness.
  • The elastomer film typically 100 MILS thick is free of filler, placticiser and solvent, quality is assured.
  • The applied membrane is elastomeric up to 300% and retains physical properties through extremes of -43.6°F to +230°F. Excellent crack bridge ability.
  • Adhesion to most substrates is outstanding. Tensile bond to concrete is measured at cohesive concrete failure.
  • Based upon historical experience in approved installations, service life expectancy at this time is in excess of 20 years. Degradation has not been experienced, in approved usage.
  • As PmB / Blue Shield (Baytec) is totally reactive, it is unaffected by prevailing temperatures, and rainfall immediately after installation.
  • As the spray applied membrane gels instantly, it easily copes with difficult profiles, of any inclination and contour follows substrate conditions without problem.
  • The installed membrane is extensively tested against most forms of chemical degradation, microbial attack, and root penetration. Test data verification is available, for most deleterious substances and proposed locations for application.
  • PmB / Blue Shield (Baytec) is water tight and extremely resistant to chloride ion penetration.
  • As PmB / Blue Shield (Baytec) is tough, resilient and it is capable of accepting any type of overlay up to 464°F.
  • Site product testing is able to confirm bond quality and installed integrity.
  • Installation is rapid; 240 square yards per hour per spray plant is normal. Production is quite easily balanced to site program requirements.
  • PmB / Blue Shield (Baytec) also has the assurance of being a product confirmed as safe in use. Stringent independent testing in the worst case tunnel environment, confirms suitability, provided that the normal health and safety measures are adopted.
  • PmB / Blue Shield (Baytec) is capable of accepting foot traffic within 5 minutes, wheeled traffic within one hour, and road surfacing overlay after only two hours. Relevant in many instances.
